jDownloader: Hoster problem - how to fix the error
When trying to download files with the JDownloader, the error message "Hoster problem" can occur from time to time. In this practical tip, we will explain what this is all about and how you can solve the problem.
Hoster problem in JDownloader - you can do that
The error message "Hoster problem" can have a number of possible causes in JDownloader, which is why there is no uniform solution. So try the following approaches in order to fix the error.
- Make sure you are using the latest version of JDownloader. Also start the update function of the tool by clicking on "Help" in the menu bar and then "Search for updates".
- Since the JDownloader is based on Java, you should install the latest Java Runtime Environment.
- If you have entered a premium account in the JDownloader for the file host in question, remove this information and try to download the file in free mode. You can then enter your user data again.
- Check if you can easily download the file in your web browser. If this is the case, the internet connection of the JDownloader is probably blocked. Try switching off your firewall and then try to start the download again. If the file can now be downloaded, you must add the JDownloader to the exception rules of your firewall. To do this, enter the following files in the filter rules: JDownloader.exe, JDownloader.jar, JDownloaderBETA.exe, JDownloaderD3D.exe, JdownloaderPortable.exe and JDUpdate.exe
- Reduce the maximum connections per hoster in the JDownloader settings. To do this, click on "Settings" in the menu bar and change the options "Max. Connections per download" and "Max. Simultaneous downloads per hoster" to the value "1".
- There can of course also be an error with the hoster, on whose server the files are stored. In this case, all you can do is wait until the problem is solved.
