JDownloader is loading slowly - what to do?
If JDownloader loads far too slowly, there can be various reasons. In this practical tip, we explain what you can do to ensure that the files land on your hard drive faster.
JDownloader: You can do that with slow downloads
This practical tip is based on the JDownloader version 0.9.334.
- First of all, you should check whether your internet connection is currently achieving the expected speed at all. This is possible, for example, with the Federal Network Agency's speed test. Further information on the test can be found here. If your internet connection is actually too slow, this practical tip will give you helpful tips.
- Next, check whether the download is only running slowly via the JDownloader. To do this, start downloading the file in the browser. If it is slow there too, the JDownloader is not responsible for the slow speed.
- The host from which you want to download the files may not be able to download them faster. The servers can be overloaded. Here it often helps to start the download at a different time. The provider may only allow paying customers a quick download. If you do not have a paid account, you can search for other sources for the download via Google.
- If you have a paid account with the provider from which you want to download the file, check whether you have entered your access data correctly in the JDownloader settings.
- Make sure that the JDownloader is not in pause mode, since all downloads are limited to 10 KByte / s. Start and end the pause mode with the pause button in the menu bar.
- A speed limit may be activated in JDownloader. To remove such a limitation, make sure that in the "Speed" field a "0" is entered in the bottom right of the program window.
- You can also try to make the download faster by increasing the maximum connections per file. To do this, increase the value "Max. Verb." at the bottom of the program window, for example from "2" to "4".
