In the Jodel app for iOS and Android, karma points are displayed in the top right. In this practical tip we will tell you what exactly is behind it and how you can upgrade your karma.
Jodel app: collect karma points - how it works
Your current karma is shown in the top right corner of the yodel app (see picture). According to the manufacturer, the karma points indicate how much good you have done for the yodel community so far. However, the developers do not reveal what there are for how many karma points. That's why we tested it for you:
- If you rate a yodel (post) or a comment, you will receive two karma points. It doesn't matter whether you rate the entry as good or bad. If you rate your own yodels, you will of course not receive any points.
- However, if your posts or comments are given poor ratings, your karma will drop. You obviously lose 10 points for every negative rating - quite a lot.
- According to the description within the app, your karma should increase even if you create new yodels. However, this was not the case in the test: there were no karma points for commented yodels or for new posts.
- Instead, the allocation of karma (at the moment) still seems quite arbitrary. If you want to increase your karma, you should therefore use the yodel app as diversely and actively as possible: create new yodels, comment on posts and rate entries, then your karma in the community will also increase.
On the next page you will learn how to display the blurry images in full screen in the Jodel app.
