Joomla: Embed map from Google Maps
If you want to include a map from Google Maps on your Joomla homepage, you can do this with the help of a clever plugin. We will guide you through the individual steps.
Embed Google Maps on the Joompla homepage
Thanks to the free plugin "Phoca Maps Component" you have Google Maps on your Joomla website.
- Install the plugin with the extension manager under "Extensions" in Joomla.
- Go to "Components" and "Phoca Maps". Select "Maps" and then the "New" button in the top left. Here you can now make settings for the new card.
- For example, you can specify coordinates on which the map should be centered.
- When you are finished, click the "Save" button. This will apply your settings.
- To be able to call up the map, you have to add a menu entry. To do this, change under "Menu" and "Main Menu" to "New menu item".
- Select the "Select" button under "Menu entry type". Search in the list "Phoca Maps" and then the sub-item "Map View".
- Before saving, you have to select the previously created map under "Select Map". Then click on "Save".
- A demo version is available on the manufacturer's website.
