Joomla: Set up newsletter module
If you want to send newsletters on your Joomla homepage, you need a small module for this. We will show you how to set this up exactly.
Joomla: Create newsletter with "jNews"
The free version "jNews" enables you to set up a free newsletter module:
- Install "jNews" with the Joomla extension manager.
- Go to the "Modules" menu under "Extensions" to activate the module.
- Find the "jNews Module" and click on the red "x" to publish the module.
- Now all you have to do is place the module on your side. To do this, switch to the "Menu" menu and then "Main Menu". There you select the "New menu item" item.
- Click the "Select" button in the "Menu entry type" field. Select "jNews" from the list and then "Subscribe".
- Save the settings by clicking the "Save" button.
Send a newsletter with "jNews"
After successful installation you can now create lists and write newsletters.
- To do this, click on "jNews" under "Components" to create lists for your subscribers.
- Select the item "List management" here. To create a new list, select the "New" button.
- Fill in the fields and select "All users" under the "Subscription" tab. This will assign all subscribers to this list.
- Save the edited list by clicking the "Save & Close" button.
- To compose the newsletter, switch to the "Newsletter" menu item and select the "New" button.
- Note: On the right-hand side, you must select the "Yes" option under "Receive" so that your list receives this newsletter.
- You have the option of writing both HTML and normal newsletters. Users who do not want to receive an HTML newsletter can indicate this when registering and will only receive the plain text.
- Please note: The newsletter has not yet been sent! To do this, click on the button with the envelope in the "Send" field.
