You can shrink JPG images on your Mac without any additional software. We show you how and with which program this works.
Mac OS X: Shrink images in JPG format
Note: The following instructions also work with images in other formats that you can open on Mac.
- Click with the right mouse button or with two fingers on the desired image and select the "Preview" under "Open with".
- Click on the "Tools" category at the top of the menu bar and select "Size correction".
- Activate (if necessary) the option "Adjust size proportionally" and choose "Percent" instead of "Pixel".
- Now change the values of height and width. The current value is 100. With a value of 50, the height or width decreases by half.
- At the bottom of the window you will see the new size of the file. The change is saved with the "OK" button.
- If you don't like the result, press the "cmd" + "Z" buttons at the same time and try again.
