Any image editing program can reduce JPG images. We show you how to do it quickly and conveniently.
Do you want to reduce JPG images with Paint? That's how it's done
If you want to shrink one or more JPG files, you don't necessarily need an online tool. With a Windows computer, you can also easily reduce or crop your pictures using Paint.
- Open Paint.
- Click on "File" - "Open" at the top left and select the appropriate file.
- Click on "Change size" in the "Image" tab in the menu bar.
- Make sure to activate the "Keep aspect ratio" option. Now either change the number of pixels or adjust the image size as a percentage.
- Save the changes and save the file in a location of your choice.
Shrink pictures online: With this tool it works
With the "grandiose picture reducer" you can quickly reduce pictures.
- Create a folder on your hard drive with the pictures you want to reduce.
- Start the "grandiose picture reducer" and select the folder with the pictures on the left.
- In the area on the right you can now define the format of the new images. In addition to preset values, you can also enter your own sizes.
- Click on "Let's go" to reduce the pictures.
- With the default settings, you can now find the reduced images in the "reduced" subfolder with the addition "k-" in front of the file name.
Reduce JPG with Irfanview
With Irfanview you can quickly shrink many pictures at once.
- Start Irfanview and choose File> "Batch Convert / Rename ..."
- The batch conversion window opens. Select "Options" here.
- Another small window opens in which you can set the quality of the images using a slider. Confirm this setting with "OK".
- Select the images you want and add them to the list with the "Add" button.
- Select a desired target directory and start the process with the "Start" button.
- All added images are reduced in size in a few seconds and exported to the selected folder.
