Open JSON files - how it works
The file extension JSON stands for "JavaScript Object Notation" and can only be opened with certain programs. We'll show you how to open JSON files on your computer and what you need to do it.
JSON file: how do i open it?
JSON files are pure text files that are only intended to exchange data between different applications.
- Right-click on the JSON file and move the mouse over the "Open with" option.
- Select the "Editor" from the list. If this is not displayed, select the "Select standard program" option.
- Alternatively, you can open the file with a text editor such as Notepad ++.
- The Firefox extension JSONView is quickly installed and shows the content of the files in the browser.
