Do your own body scrub: Instructions with natural ingredients
Doing a body scrub yourself is easy with the right recipe. We have summarized for you which natural ingredients you need and how you should proceed in this DIY guide.
You need this for your own body peeling
To start making, you almost only need to go to your kitchen. You will most likely find all the ingredients there. You have several options for mixing a homemade scrub:
- Sugar or salt: The two spices are suitable for cleaning the skin from the dander, as both are coarse in nature. Clean sand is also suitable for "abrasion". You can read about where sugar comes from in another article. We also explain where the salt in the sea comes from.
- Now you need a "carrier substance" into which you mix salt, sand or sugar. Olive oil is best suited for this, since the composition of the fatty acids is similar to that of the subcutaneous fatty tissue. It also provides the skin with vitamin E. Quark, yogurt and cream are also good for the skin.
- If you add a little honey, this also promotes skin health.
- Finally, you need a bowl in which to mix the body scrub.
Wellness for the body: recipes for DIY peeling
When you have the ingredients ready, you can start mixing. We'll show you three recipes for a healthy peeling.
- Sugar-oil peeling: Mix one teaspoon of sugar and honey with one or two tablespoons of olive oil. Mix the ingredients until a solid mass is formed. To prevent the sugar from dissolving, the ingredients should not be warmer than room temperature. You can find other uses of olive oil for the skin in another article.
- Salt-oil peeling: Salt-oil peeling is easy. To do this, simply mix a few spoons of salt in olive oil and mix both to a creamy mass. Mix in a teaspoon of honey here as well, so that its nourishing substances reach the skin.
- Sand quark peeling: For this body peeling, mix sand with some quark. How much sand you need depends on the grain size. The finer the sand, the more you can add. The exfoliation with fine sand is also gentler on the skin. Of course, you can also add honey here.
Instructions for body peeling
A peeling not only serves wellness, but also health. A body scrub should preferably be placed on the weekend and in the evening. The reasons for this are the relaxation and relaxation factor as well as environmental influences.
- Cleanse your skin before you do anything. Normally washed skin is sufficient. It is important that you then dry all areas of the skin well.
- Then apply the peeling to your skin. Do this gently. Use your fingertips and rub the peeling gently on the skin in circular movements for about two to three minutes. It is important that you do not exert too much pressure. Sand, salt or sugar have a very abrasive effect. You should definitely avoid the area around the eyes.
- Leave the peeling on the skin a little. Over time, the active ingredients can act on your skin. Nutrients, especially honey and oil, are well absorbed by the skin. Remember that there are no red spots on your skin. Finally, you go to a mostly delicate fabric with a “rough tool”.
- After the procedure, rinse your body with water. Do not rub it off, but remove the body peeling with running, lukewarm water. Of course, a very soft washcloth doesn't hurt when cleaning. However, proceed very gently here and do not use soaps or shower gels.
- When the body peeling is complete, the skin is velvety and soft. Dead skin scales are "rubbed" off the skin, so to speak. The measure cleans "unclean" skin areas and older, dead skin flakes fall victim to the body peeling. Your skin becomes smooth and additionally nourished by the substances used. By the way, dead skin is nothing abnormal or unusual: every human skin renews itself in smaller or larger parts every day. Depending on how hard it was used.
- Rubbing the skin with creams afterwards is neither sensible nor necessary. Creams would rather “clog” the clean pores.
