Create boxes with the keyboard - how it works
If you want to insert boxes in a document, you can create them using the keyboard as well as software such as Word. In this guide, we will show you how this works.
Create boxes with the keyboard
If you don't have any software like Word on hand, you can use two square brackets or a capital O if necessary. In the following we will show you how to create correct square boxes in Word.
- Switch to the "Insert" tab at the top of Word and select the "Additional symbols" under "Symbol".
- Select the "Arial" font in the "Font" column and "Geometric shapes" as the "Subset".
- As the third character you will see an empty square box (□). Double-click the box in Word.
- If you would like to use the box more often, you can set up quick access using the "Key combination" button.
- If the box doesn't meet your expectations, just change the font. Almost every font has a type of box.
