Set up Kabel Deutschland email on Android
You can set up your Kabel Deutschland email with any Android mail client. In the various email apps, however, you will find the settings in different places. Using the "Kaiten Mail" app and the standard email app from HTC smartphones, we will show you where you can set up your Kabel Deutschland email address.
Here you will find the email settings for your Kabel Deutschland email
- The HTC Mail app asks you for your mail service provider when you start the app. Here you select "Other (POP3 / IMAP)". Enter your normal Kabel Deutschland email data as your email address and password. Then select "Manual setup" and set "POP3" as the protocol.
- In the Android app "Kaiten Mail" you will find the settings a little different: Here in the main menu press the big plus symbol in the top right corner to add a new account. Enter your usual Kabel Deutschland email data as email address and password. Then click on "Manual setup" and select "POP3 account" in the next step.
Use this POP3 data to set up your Kabel Deutschland email
Once you have found the settings in the Android app, you now need the corresponding data for the incoming server:
- Email address: Your complete Kabel-Deutschland-Mail
- Username: Your complete Kabel Deutschland email again (with "@ kabeldeutschland.de" at the end)
- Password: Your normal Kabel-Deutschland password
- POP3 server: pop3.kabelmail.de
- (Server) port: 995
- Security type: SSL
Kabel Deutschland Email: Configure outgoing server
When setting the outgoing server, you must make sure that the "Login required" checkbox and enter the data as the user name and password as above. The rest of the information is as follows:
- SMTP server: smtp.kabelmail.de
- Port: 465
- Security type: SSL

Note: With a free Kabel Deutschland mail account, you can only use POP3 as a protocol. If you are using the Kabel-Email-Power package, we recommend that you use email via IMAP. In the next practical tip, we will explain the differences between IMAP and POP3.
