Eliminate cable clutter - tips for arranging cables
If you have countless cables around your desk, it means tidying up. With these tips, we will show you how to get rid of the tangled cables.
The tried and tested cable ties
Cable ties are inexpensive, can be stowed away in the drawer and are therefore always quickly at hand.
- The cable ties are now available in all possible colors, lengths and widths. You can also get cable ties from specialist retailers that you can open and close multiple times.
- First label the individual cables so that you know later which cable belongs where. Then put all the cables together properly and tie them together in groups with cable ties.
- Tip: The cable ties have also proven to be extremely practical little helpers when it comes to coiled cables. With the cable ties, the cables stay in the rolled form and can be stowed away easily.
With cable hoses and integrated cable ducts to prevent cable clutter
Another solution that is reasonably priced is cable hoses. The cable hoses are also available in a wide variety of colors, lengths and widths.
- The cable hoses can be opened from the side so that you can insert the cables. Then close the hose again.
- The somewhat larger parts, such as adapters, are placed in mesh baskets that you screw under the desk top.
- The most elegant but also the most expensive solution are desks with integrated cable channels in the table legs and the table top.
Eliminate cable clutter with document clips
An equally inexpensive and neat solution offers you document clips that you can quickly misuse for the "tidy desk" mission.
- Conveniently, the document clips are available in different sizes so that you can find something suitable for every cable size.
- To be able to lead the cable through the eyelet, you have to remove the bracket from the holder for most cables. In the video, we will show you how you can do this without damaging the clip.
- After passing the cable through the document clip, attach the individual clips side by side to the back of your desk.
Basically, it is better to buy the cables as long as possible in the length you need them. In the next post, you will learn when an HDMI cable loses quality.
