Noodles have around 350 kilocalories per 100 grams dry weight and nothing can be shaken about that. If you like to eat pasta for your life, there are a few tips to keep the pasta as low in calories as possible.
- For a low-calorie meal with pasta, you should avoid additional fattening foods. Cream sauce, cheese sauce or a large portion of oil are particularly rich.
- Baking pasta also increases the number of calories.
- The pasta dish remains comparatively low in calories if you mix cooked, grilled or oven-cooked vegetables with oil without the pasta. Use herbs and instant broth for seasoning so that the dish doesn't taste boring.
- Tomato sauce is also low in calories if you do without cream, mozzarella or cream cheese in the sauce. Simply cook canned tomatoes with a little vegetable stock, garlic, onions and a teaspoon of olive oil at low temperature until the sauce is the desired thickness.
- Tip: weigh the pasta before cooking! If you can't get enough of a small portion like 80 grams of pasta (dry), prepare more vegetables so that your portion will be larger, but not more calories.
Replace pasta and save calories
If noodles consistently have too many carbohydrates and calories, try low-carb noodles as an alternative.
- "Noodles" from zucchini, pumpkin or beetroot contain hardly any calories and yet a lot of important nutrients. It is best to shape the vegetable spaghetti using a spiral cutter.
- You can now eat your favorite sauce or pesto. Since the vegetables only have about a tenth of the calories of pasta, you can also gratinate the dish with cheese without making it too powerful.
- Can't you really make friends with the pasta substitute? Try the alternative in a 50:50 ratio. Simply mix "real" spaghetti and zucchini spaghetti.
- Shirataki noodles are also an alternative. This Asian pasta variety is made from konjac flour and, depending on the variety, has 2 to 8 calories per 100 grams. There is not only pasta, but also rice for a little change from the pasta.
