Can you eat mushrooms raw? You have to know that
There are numerous foods that you shouldn't eat raw or only under certain conditions. In this practical tip, we will tell you whether mushrooms are included.
Eating mushrooms raw: is that healthy?
Especially in salads, it is advisable to eat the mushrooms unprepared and raw. Basically, you can also eat this type of mushroom raw, but there are a few things to keep in mind:
- On the one hand, the mushrooms should be as fresh as possible and not have any very soft pressure points. If the mushrooms are soft or a few days old, germs may have multiplied.
- Also roughly remove dirt from the mushrooms. Use a finger, a towel or a brush for this. Nothing stands in the way of raw consumption.
Eating mushrooms: washing is possible, but unnecessary
- If you still want to be on the safe side, you can peel off the top skin of the mushrooms. To do this, start with a small knife on the underside of the mushroom.
- If necessary, you can also wash the mushrooms. To do this, add some flour to the water so that the mushrooms do not become completely saturated with water.
