Sell broken tablet - the best tips
Before your broken tablet becomes completely worthless, you should sell it. We give you tips on sales and show you where you can get a few euros for the defective device.
You should keep this in mind when selling a broken tablet
Even with defective electrical devices, you can still earn one or two euros - even if the devices can only be used for cannibalizing. However, you should not wait too long with the sale to get as much money as possible for your broken tablet.
- First of all, you should consider whether you are willing to invest some time to sell the device privately. With this approach, there is often a good chance that you will get a higher price. Alternatively, there are various internet purchase platforms for quick and convenient sales.
- If you want to try your luck privately, free classified ads are available. Before you place an ad, however, you should try to find out exactly what is defective on your tablet, because this makes the price more realistic.
- In your ad or in the form of the purchase platform, you should explicitly state that the tablet is defective. Regardless of the fact that you are legally obliged to do so, you will save yourself trouble later.
- To be able to roughly estimate the value of your tablet, visit one or two purchase platforms in advance. There you will be guided step by step through the sales process. Finally, the portal offers you a price for your tablet. You use this price as a guide if you sell the device on a classified ad.
- In addition, other private classified ads offer an indication of the current price of your tablet.
- You should also take the current new purchase price into account in order to arrive at a realistic price.
- If you live in a big city, you will find plenty of shops for smartphones, tablets and computers. There you can ask without obligation what you would get for your device. Note, however, that you will usually get the lowest sales value from such stores.
1. Sell broken tablet through classified ads
First, try using free classified ads to get rid of your broken tablet. An advertisement can be created quickly and is usually free of charge - provided you do not book any additional offers such as large pictures. In order for sales to go off as quickly as possible, you should place a sales ad in all possible classified ads portals at the same time:
- EBay classifieds is one of the best known and therefore promising advertising platforms. In addition, the sales prospects on the portal are quite good, especially in the IT area. The only catch is that both sellers and buyers have to create a free account on eBay in order to use the platform.
- The annoying registration process is no longer necessary on the market sales portal and you can place your ad right away. With Kalaydo, however, you must also create an account in advance. Both ad platforms are free and fairly well attended, so an ad is definitely worth it.
- The same applies to the classifieds platform Quoka and "The Hot Line". Only after you have created an account can you place a free ad. Then wait and see what happens.
- In principle, you can specify a fixed price or a price as a basis for negotiation on all classified advertising platforms. In the meantime, however, the boundaries have blurred and many potential buyers are also trying to trade at fixed prices. It is therefore not clumsy to simply add a few euros from the start, which you can then negotiate.
2. Sell defective tablets via a purchase platform
If your private sales efforts have not been successful or if you do not want to waste time placing advertisements and possibly troubles with potential buyers, simply contact one of the Internet buying platforms:
- It makes sense to get a price offer in advance from various reputable purchase platforms such as Wirkaufens or reBuy.
- The sales process is simple: You provide the required information about your tablet step by step and then receive a price offer.
- In addition to the purchase prices offered for the tablet, be sure to compare the other conditions, such as payment methods and shipping fees.
