Carnival 2019: High penalties for wild pee and glass bottles
In Cologne there are countless jokes celebrating on the streets every year, and not just in Cologne. However, if you don't follow the rules, the fun can quickly become expensive. In this practical tip, we show you which amount of money is due in the event of various violations of the rules.
Wild peeing prohibited: This penalty is imminent
The motto of the street carnival is "who can drink must also be able to wait". Peeing in secret is punished.
- Anyone who urinates in public annoys the general public and is asked to checkout immediately.
- A fine of up to EUR 100 will be charged for this administrative offense.
- The number of existing toilet stations in the carnival strongholds has increased significantly compared to the previous year. They are also signposted in detail. So there is no longer any reason to choose wild peeing.
Glass bottles are taboo
Tourists from all over the world travel to Germany to celebrate carnival or carnival. Everyone hopes for a peaceful celebration. In order to counteract an increased risk of injury from broken glass, glass bottles are therefore prohibited in many places.
- In Cologne, Düsseldorf, Mainz and Koblenz there is an absolute ban on glass bottles in the corresponding sub-areas of the cities!
- Street sales are also affected. Drinks are only sold in plastic bottles and cups.
- Smuggling glass bottles and drinking glasses for visitors becomes expensive. There is a fine of 60 euros.
- At the checkpoints, everyone can drink their drink in peace or pour it into the plastic cups provided. Nobody has to die of thirst.
Celebrate Carnival in Cologne: bus and train instead of car
Whoever drinks alcohol should under no circumstances drive a car. Not only because of the impending fine - this is not only true at the carnival. Then prefer to use the bus and train, which have prepared themselves for the big rush. Additional journeys, longer trains and provisional platforms are planned. So every fool gets to his desired goal.
