No network with Smartmobil - what to do?
If you have concluded a mobile phone contract with Smartmobil, but you do not get a network connection, this may be due to the settings of your smartphone. Here's what you can do.
You can do this if you cannot get a network with your Smartmobil SIM card
It is important to know that Smartmobil uses the Vodafone network.
- In the mobile phone menu you have to align the Internet configuration to Vodafone. This is done in the basic settings and depends on your device model.
- You can normally have your provider send you the access data via SMS. You can reach Smartmobil via an online help form or by phone on 0180 566 90 10 (14 cents / minute from a landline, max. 42 cents / minute from mobile networks). There you can also request a free SMS with the access data.
- Leave the place in the Internet configuration where a proxy is requested.
- You have to enter web.vodafone.de in the menu item "Access point".
What to do if you still have no network reception?
- Rebooting your cell phone often helps! Simply shut down the smartphone properly, then restart it again.
- If you have any problems, contact Smartmobil, the telephone number can be found above. The network is from Vodafone, but their customer service will only refer you back to Smartmobil as the responsible provider.
- Vodafone does have good network coverage in Germany with D2, but changing rural providers can also bring about an improvement, particularly in rural areas. Ask friends and acquaintances about their experiences.
- Perhaps it is also due to the UMTS networks. For the test, you can change the settings of your smartphone so that it only dials into GSM networks. How that works depends on the manufacturer. GSM is more common than the faster UMTS networks.
