No notifications in Threema - you can do that

If you no longer receive a notification in Messenger Threema when friends and Co. contact you, we recommend that you go to specific troubleshooting. In the following we will show you how to proceed step by step.
Threema does not display notifications
In most cases, if you only receive Threema messages when you open the app, there is an error in the settings of your Android or iOS smartphone. Either you have set the messenger not to run in the background, or Threema is not able to transmit data in the background. For a solution, do the following:
- Open Threema on your smartphone by tapping the app.
- Tap the three horizontal dots in the top right corner and navigate to the "Settings" item.
- Then go to "Troubleshoot" and scroll down to the "Troubleshoot Device Configuration Problems" section.
- Here you can see two sub-items, namely: "Enable background execution" and "Activate background data".
- Tap on the options one after the other and now follow the instructions that are displayed on the device.
Android and iOS: troubleshooting
In many cases, simple steps are enough to get Threema notifications displayed again. Troubleshoot by going through the options one by one:
- First check your connection to the Internet. No messages are transmitted without WiFi or mobile data.
- Restart your smartphone to fix any small errors.
- Deactivate the battery saving function. To do this, open a list of your apps in the settings of your smartphone and go to "Battery optimization" under "Threema". Under "Threema" tap on "Do not optimize".
- Make sure app notifications are turned on.
- If all steps did not help, reset the push token. To do this, open the settings in Threema and navigate to the "Troubleshooting" item. Here, tap on "Reset push token".
