- The child benefit number has the format 111FK333334. The first three numbers represent the family benefits of the respective federal state. The abbreviation FK stands for "fixed child benefit number".
- The following six numbers form the actual child benefit number. The last digit indicates whether the child benefit is paid towards the beginning or the end of the month. The higher the last digit, the later the child benefit is paid.
