Children's passport expired: extension and all information
Before you go on a trip, you should make sure that the children's passport has not expired. You can find out what you should do in this case in this practical tip.
Children's passport expired - all information
To be able to fly on holiday with the family, children up to the age of 12 need a valid passport. Once this has expired, you must apply for a new one from your local city office:
- To apply for a new children's passport, it is imperative that the child is with you.
- In addition, both parents must be present when applying. If a parent is unable to attend, a power of attorney must be issued.
- If the parents live separately, only the parent with whom the child is registered has to be included in the extension.
- Note: Single fathers need proof of sole custody or mother's consent.
- An extension of the children's passport usually costs between 5 and 10 euros.
