Childproof lock for the Windows Phone - how it works
In this guide, we explain how to set up your Windows Phone to be childproof. With our tips, you can let your children play with their smartphone with confidence.
Child lock on the Windows Phone - the "children's corner"
Smartphones magically attract children and they love to play with them. The range of apps for children is growing steadily, so there are many suitable programs for kids. However, children can easily adjust something or buy apps unintentionally. But the Windows Phone has a suitable solution for this:
- This solution is called the "children's corner". This children's corner is a separate area, which is isolated from the normal cell phone functions.
- You decide which apps and content your child can access, for example certain photos, videos, games or other applications.
- You need to set a password for the lock screen. If the lock screen comes on while your child is still playing with the Windows Phone, it could otherwise get onto the normal surface. You need to unlock the phone and start the kids corner again. For quick access, you can put a tile on the home screen for the children's corner.
- How to set up and activate the children's corner correctly on the Windows Phone, read on the next page.
Set pin for app purchases on Windows Phone
If you do not want to activate the child's corner for your child, you should definitely set a password for the purchase of apps. By default, no password is required when purchasing apps. How to activate the password request for app purchases:
- To set a password for app, music, and video purchases, you must open Settings.
- Then swipe to the right and open the "Wallet" item.
- Here you flip the switch at "Wallet PIN" so that it is switched on.
- Then tick "Use wallet PIN to protect when buying music, apps and in-app content".
