If you want to transfer your videos, photos or the screen from Kindle Fire HD to your TV, you have to connect the two devices. We'll show you how it's done.
Connect Kindle Fire HD to TV
- HDMI: The easiest way to connect via HDMI cable, but only the first generation of the Fire HD also has an HDMI connection. For this you need either an HDMI to Micro-HDMI cable or, if you already have an HDMI cable, an HDMI to Micro-HDMI adapter. In the "Settings" you will find the "Duplicate display" option under the "Sounds and screens" category. This is the only option to broadcast the entire screen permanently.
- Chromecast: If you already have a Chromecast stick, you can also transfer content from Kindle to the TV wirelessly. To do this, however, you have to make some settings. How this works is shown in the practical tip Chromecast with Kindle Fire HD.
- Apple TV: If you use an Apple TV, it is also possible to transfer individual content such as photos and videos. To do this, however, you need the paid AppleTV AirPlay Media Player app from the Amazon App Store.
In the next practical tip, we will show you how to expand Kindle Fire HD storage with an SD card.
