Parental controls for the Kindle are a fine thing - provided you don't forget the tablet password. In this practical tip, we will tell you what you can do in the case of password amnesia.
Forgot your parental controls password - you can do that
With parental controls or Kindle Freetime, you can control precisely what your children should and shouldn't have access to. Since the Kindle Fire password should have a protective function accordingly, it would of course be disadvantageous if your children could just handle it that way. Hence the bad news for you at the moment: there is no way to simply bypass the password. Of course, that doesn't mean you can't do anything. Unfortunately, the action involves a bit of work. The Kindle must be completely reset:
- First select the "Device options" under "Settings".
- Then decide on the option "Reset to factory settings" and finally confirm your decision.
- Now that all the settings you have made have of course been reset and everything else has been deleted, you will need to set up your Kindle again.
- However, the purchases you have already made on Amazon, such as books, are stored in your cloud so that you can easily download them again.
