Your Kindle can give you a lot of information about the current progress in the book. This includes the page numbers or the time remaining in the book. This practical tip explains how you can display page numbers correctly.
Amazon Kindle - page number feature available?
As a first requirement, the book you are reading must support the page number function. You can find out whether the feature is available on the book's Amazon product page.
- Simply go to the product page of the book you want to buy on Amazon. Select the "Kindle version".
- Scroll down to "Product Information".
- Additional information should be found here, from which ISBN version of the book the Kindle version gets your page number (see screenshot). If not, the book does not support the function.
Show page number on Kindle - how does it work?
To display page numbers, you may need a new software version, at least version 4.0.
- To find out which version your Kindle has installed, tap on the symbol with the three bars in the top right corner and select "Device info".
- If your version number is less than 4.0, you can update your Kindle. Use the official Amazon guide for this.
If both requirements are met, simply open the book on the Kindle and tap at the bottom left until the page number appears.
- The larger the font on your Kindle, the more you have to turn the page until a new page appears. Because the page numbers correspond to those of the printed book.
