Protect Kindle with password - how it works
Thanks to Amazon's 1-click setting, you don't need to enter a password when buying e-books with your Kindle. Protect your reader anyway, because if you lose your device, it could have bad consequences. We clarify it.
Kindle with password protection - redundant?
If you lose the reader, an unauthorized person could buy books at your expense. According to Amazon, you have the option to request a refund for an item within seven days. However, this is only a goodwill return policy. If you want to effectively prevent the unauthorized use of your device, protect the reader with a password. So no unauthorized third party can use the reader wisely.
Set password on Kindle
- To do this, first use [Home] or [Home] and then [Menu] or [Menu]. Select "Settings" or "Settings" and confirm your choice by pressing the cursor pad.
- On the second page you will find the section "Device Password" or, in English, "Device Password". Next to these sections, select "Switch on" or "turn on" and confirm this action again using the cursor pad.
- Then enter your desired password under "Enter password" or "Enter Password". On Kindle, you use the virtual keyboard that you start with [Keyboard]. Repeat the entry next to "Confirm Password" (or "Confirm Password").
- Finally, in addition to "Enter hint" (or "Enter Password Hint), add a statement as a reminder if you forget the password. Confirm with" OK "(or" submit ").
If you have forgotten the Kindle password and the password hint does not help, you can reset your password with the help of these instructions. Unfortunately, all data on the reader is also lost.
