Kindle: Read texts from the Internet - how it works
You can also read texts from the Internet with your Amazon Kindle on the eReader. In this practical tip, we will tell you which tool this works with.
Read web texts on Kindle
With the free Send to Kindle tool you can send texts to your reader. This tool exists in different versions for PC, Mac and Android devices as well as a plug-in for the Google Chrome browser:
- With [[//www.amazon.com/gp/sendtokindle|Amazon-Send-to-kindle] you can download the tool to your system. To do this, simply click on the desired link. For example, to load the plug-in for Google Chrome, click "Send to Kindle for Google Chrome" and then "Download now".
- Google Chrome offers you to install the plug-in immediately. To do this, you can "Add" and confirm this again with "Add".
- Then log in to your Amazon account. Then click on "Start Now", define the settings for Send to Kindle and save them with "Save". This log-in remains so that you should log out after researching the command sequence "Settings"> "Other Settings"> "Log Me Out".
- After the installation you will find a small button to the right of the address field in the browser with an orange "k" on a black background. If you come across a website that interests you, but you don't have the time to study, just click this button. Then select the desired action in the following menu ("Send to Kindle", "Preview & Send" or "Send Selected Text").
- Note: For Windows systems, for example, the desktop versions add a "Send to Kindle" command in the context menus concerned or a special printer driver for Macs.
