If the time and date are set incorrectly on your Amazon Kindle, you can change this in the settings. We'll tell you how to do this with Kindle Readers and Kindle Fire.
Kindle eBook Reader: set the time and date
Amazon's Kindle readers show the current time in the top bar. A date display is missing, however, which is why the date cannot be set on the Kindle. However, you can change the time in the settings.
- To do this, go to the main menu of your Kindle by closing the currently open eBook.
- Tap the gear icon at the top, then tap All Settings.
- Then select the sub-item "Device options" and tap on "Time".
- Finally, set the desired time and confirm with "Ok".
Kindle Fire: set the time and date
The above guide does not work on Kindle Fire. Here you have to set the time and date via the time zone settings. The two data cannot be changed manually.
- Swipe your finger down and tap the "Settings" entry in the message center.
- Then tap on "Device Options" and "Date & Time".
- If the "Automatic time zone" option is activated, your device uses the WLAN or a mobile network to determine the time zone via the Internet.
- If you want to select the time zone manually, tap "Off" next to "Automatic time zone" and then select the desired time zone. The time is then automatically set correctly.
