Selling clothes online - the best tips
Clothing that you no longer wear can be sold online. Different portals are available for this. This practical tip shows you what you should consider when selling.
Check the condition of the clothes
Before you separate your clothes, you should carefully check the condition of them. Among other things, this is decisive for pricing.
- It is actually obvious: Hardly worn clothes generally sell better than those that have been slumbering in the closet for years or even decades.
- Be sure to look at the condition before selling. Does the clothing have holes or washes? Have you cut out annoying size or care information labels? Are they branded or no-name clothes? You have to take a close look at all of this.
Describe all items of clothing in detail
If you have checked the items of clothing, you must also reflect this in the description:
- You should therefore state all the defects and at best add a photo of the defect. Don't try to prettify something here. You could otherwise get a negative rating, which will do more harm than help in the long run.
- Enter the category here and make it as easy as possible for the potential buyer. A good description is the be-all and end-all on the Internet.
- Finally, set the price. Use the new price as a guide or see how the garment is sold online elsewhere. Also think about whether it should be a basis for negotiation or a fixed price. Also ask yourself if you want to send the clothes (and what they cost) or if they are for self-collection.
Take meaningful photos of the clothes
In order for clothing to be seen on the Internet, you should only offer clothing with a photo. So the potential buyer sees directly whether he likes the offer or not.
- It is best if you have someone who can show off the clothes. This makes it easier to see what kind of clothing it is. It is also sufficient to put the main feature on clothing. You can cut out the head on the picture if you don't want them to be seen online.
- You can also hang clothes on a hanger or slip on a corresponding mannequin. You should definitely refrain from photographing the clothes crumpled up on the floor or bed. Good exposure is also important here.
