Your air conditioning system ensures pleasant coolness on hot summer days and the functionality is quickly explained. We show you how your air conditioning system generates cool air.
How an air conditioner works
The operation of an air conditioning system is similar to that of a refrigerator and is not very complicated.
- A gaseous refrigerant is strongly compressed in the air conditioning system. This increases the temperature of the refrigerant.
- In a subsequent step, the refrigerant is cooled. As a result, it condenses. So it gets fluid.
- The now cold and liquid refrigerant is fed into an evaporator.
- The room air is sucked in and blown over the evaporator. The refrigerant in the evaporator cools the room air. The refrigerant itself evaporates.
- The now cool room air is released. The gaseous refrigerant is returned to the circuit.
