Garlic and onion: that's how good it tastes with your feet
Our body has some curious functions: did you know that you can taste some foods such as garlic and onion with your feet, for example? We explain how it works.
How to taste garlic and onions with your feet
To create the taste of either garlic or onions with your feet, proceed as follows:
- Take a few cloves of garlic or an onion. Cut them and put them in a plastic bag.
- Now put your foot in this bag and close it. In order for it to work, there must be no air. So, for example, secure the bag with rubber bands - just be careful not to interrupt the blood supply!
- You can taste garlic or onion on your tongue about 60 minutes later.
- Alternatively, you can rub your foot properly with the cut surface of the clove of garlic or onion!
Taste garlic and onions with your feet - how is that possible?
The fact that we can taste onions and garlic with our feet is based on the following explanation:
- Both garlic and onions contain allicin. This substance can be easily absorbed by human skin.
- The pores on the feet absorb allicin, which is distributed throughout the bloodstream.
- It only takes a while for the allicin and the typical taste of onions and garlic to reach the tongue.
