Knoppix: Format hard drive - how it works
If you want to format the hard drive from your computer as securely as possible, you can do it with Knoppix and the tool GParted. In our step-by-step instructions, we show you exactly how to do this.
Format hard disk with Knoppix
On Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Co. you can format all partitions on a hard disk, but not the hard disk on which the operating system is currently running. If you install Knoppix on a CD or a USB stick, you can really format all partitions.
- To do this, start Knoppix and open the start menu at the bottom left.
- In the "Settings" category you will now find the "GParted" program.
- First select the desired hard disk in the top right.
- Here you can now select all the desired partitions by right-clicking and "Delete".
- You can also right-click to merge several partitions using "Resize / move".
