Wrapping headphones correctly: This prevents knots and cable clutter
No matter how you put the headphones in your pocket, there is always a tangle of cables in the end. This practical tip shows you how to wind up the cable correctly and thus prevent knots and the like.
Instructions: Wind up the headphone cable correctly
- Extend your palm and spread your thumb up. Now wrap the cable around your palm again and again.
- Pull the coiled cable from your hand and wrap the end of the cable two or three times around the coiled cable.
- If you then insert the end of the cable through one of the two loops, the cable can no longer come loose on its own.
- Tip: Alternatively, you can spread your thumb and index finger apart and always wrap the cable in an eight around the two fingers. The cable is securely closed in the same way.
Wrap the headphone cable on cardboard
If you carry your headphone cable in a backpack or bag, you can also use another trick. For this you need a piece of thick paper or cardboard.
- Cut the cardboard into the format of an EC card. Cut two indentations in the sides (see picture).
- There is a hole at the top. Insert the hole or use a hole punch.
- Now you can simply wind the headphone cable around the two indentations and then fix the end in the hole.
In the next practical tip, we will tell you whether in-ear headphones are really harmful.
