If you freeze herbs like coriander, you can refine delicious dishes all year round. Freezing can be done in different ways. In this practical tip, we will show you how it works best.
How to properly freeze coriander
If you want to use coriander for different fresh dishes, such as delicious salads, then the following method is best. All you need is a freezer bag or an easily sealable plastic container.
- First, sort out bad, ramshackle and spoiled twigs of coriander. Also remove the rough stems.
- Wash the coriander sprigs and gently pat them dry with a cloth.
- Then finely chop the herb.
- Put the coriander in a freezer bag or plastic container.
- The herb remains in the freezer for up to six months.
Freeze the coriander in portions
If you want to freeze portions of coriander, you need an ice cube container. Note, however, that in this case you can only use the coriander for sauces or soups.
- Remove the coarse stems and wash the herb.
- Then chop it to the size you need.
- Spread the coriander evenly in the ice cube container.
- Then fill the individual compartments to the brim with water and place the ice cube container in the freezer.
You can also dry them to preserve herbs. You can find out how in our next post.
