Coriander: It is suitable for these recipes
Coriander is a popular spice in various kitchens. Not everyone likes it, but it comes in many recipes. We explain what coriander is suitable for and in which countries it is used.
Coriander fruits or coriander green
Coriander processes both the fruits and the green.
- The dried fruits give your food a warm, spicy note thanks to essential oils that go well with honey, camphor, pepper, pine or cinnamon. The green has a soapy, fresh taste, but not everyone likes it.
- Coriander is grown worldwide. The herb is mainly exported from Egypt, Argentina, India, Morocco and Poland.
- The fruits are also sold as coriander seeds or coriander seeds and are ground or completely available.
- The ground fruits are used as a bread spice, for stews, meat and game roasts, salads and sauces.
- Ground coriander is, among other things, an integral part of many spice mixtures and goes very well with garlic, cumin, oregano, pepper, onion and chilli.
- Curry spice contains coriander. Therefore, Indian cuisine is also suitable for use. This offers many vegetarian dishes and is therefore interesting for a low-meat diet.
- Moroccan spice blends (such as Ras-El-Hanout) mostly contain coriander. Delicious dishes can be conjured up with lamb and wheat semolina, garlic, onions, raisins and dates.
- Coriander greens use Asian, Oriental and Latin American cuisine. Fresh coriander is therefore suitable as an addition to many dishes. Coriander can also be seasoned well in Chili-con and Chili-sin Carne.
