Cost traps at Aldi Talk: you should pay attention to this
Aldi offers cheap tariffs for telephony, but the Aldi Talk "Package 300" prepaid tariff lurks a cost trap that can be costly for the customer.
Aldi Talk Package 300 - high costs for mobile phone tariffs
7.99 euros per month for 300 units including a surf flat rate with 300 MB unrestricted data volume - that's cheap. With a wrong check mark, however, costs of almost 100 euros can arise.
- You can set the requirements for the automatic top-up of your prepaid card online. If you choose the lowest charging option "under five euros", the Aldi charging system has a problem that can cost you a lot of money.
- If your prepaid credit is between 5 and 7.98 euros, the package price has not yet been debited, but the automatic top-up does not work either: your credit is more than 5 euros.
- As a result, the Aldi system simply ends the 300 flat rate after the month has ended - and you can now make calls, surf the Internet or send messages at the same price as the basic tariff, which is ten times more expensive.
- Our tip: Pay attention to emails or SMS that confirm an unexpected top up of your credit. Check the automatic recharge threshold - 10 euros is recommended. You can also find out about the current status via the Aldi hotline.
