It costs a credit card
- Annual fee: The easiest way to compare credit cards is by their annual fee. Some credit cards do not have an annual fee, others charge up to € 100.
- Note: Many credit cards only have no annual fee for the first year. You then pay a fee for the following years.
- Foreign Currency Turnover: Most credit card providers charge a fee if you pay in a foreign currency. This can be two percent or more - but many providers have now also abolished this fee. Please also note this information when paying online by credit card.
- Partner card: If you want to use a credit card with your partner, you can apply for a partner card. However, providers often take fees for this.
Credit card: There are hidden costs here
- Debit interest: If you pay more with your credit card than you have money in the associated credit account, debit interest accrues. Depending on the provider, these are between 7 and 20 percent.
- Cash Withdrawal: Not only do you have to pay the fee for foreign use, but there can also be a fee for cash withdrawals abroad. Depending on the provider, this is up to two percent or a fixed amount.
