Check credit card: How to check creditworthiness and bank details
If you check a credit card for creditworthiness and bank details, you can do business with a better conscience. This is not particularly easy - but with our tips you can assess the creditworthiness well.
Check credit card: is the card real?
- You cannot check whether the credit card is genuine. However, you can check the card number. For example, the website Domainprovider.de offers this service.
- This checks the card number for plausibility - so you can check whether the number could have been assigned theoretically. If the number is not recognized, the credit card is likely to be fake.
Check credit card credit rating: Credit vs. debit
Credit cards can be divided into credit cards and debit cards. This also says something about the credit rating:
- Credit cards have a monthly credit limit, i.e. an interest-free loan. At the end of the month, this will be offset against the current account in full or in installments.
- Debit cards are comparable to an EC card, because here the money is deducted directly from the credit.
- Credit rating: If you immediately debit or debit the invoice amount from the credit card, the credit card type does not matter. If the customer is unable to cover his credit card bill on the credit card later, the credit card company is liable.
- Our tip: If you book or charge a credit card, you are on the safe side. If the customer is not solvent, the card terminal does not accept the credit card. If the booking is successful, but the customer cannot settle the amount later, he must clarify this with the credit institution and not with you.
Credit cards: Classic, Gold, Platinum or Black
Since certain credit cards are subject to conditions, this can also be an indication of the customer's creditworthiness:
- Classic: This type of credit card is available for everyone - often without conditions.
- Gold: Gold credit cards are not uncommon. But they are usually linked to a certain income. In contrast to most Classic cards, there is often an annual fee.
- Platinum: American Express, Visa and Mastercard offer platinum cards. As a rule, the cards have an annual fee in the three- to four-digit range.
- Black / Infinite: These cards are only issued by invitation. A lot of sales and credit are two of the many requirements.
