Short messages in Facebook: Get real-time ticker - does that work?
- The short message ticker was introduced in 2011 and showed your friends' recent activity in real time. At the end of 2017, Facebook decided to deactivate the feature.
- The short messages were popular with many users and used frequently. It is therefore all the more strange that Facebook simply deactivated the ticker.
- Many people asked support after switching off whether the ticker could be repeated. Support responded publicly that the ticker had been deactivated.
- This means that the real-time ticker cannot be retrieved and you will unfortunately have to do without the short messages in the future. We don't know if the ticker will ever come back.
- Switching off the ticker could be part of the announced reorientation of Facebook. Mark Zuckerberg announced at the end of 2017 that Facebook would like to realign its content.
