Office 2003 and Windows 7: Fix problems
In the unlikely event that problems arise when using Office 2003 and Windows 7, one thing helps: Starting Office in the so-called "XP compatibility mode". This simulates the Windows XP program as an operating system. This often solves problems. Here's how you can start Microsoft Word 2003 in compatibility mode (using Word 2007 as an example, but is the same for Word 2003):
- Right-click on the small Word 2003 icon and go to "Properties".
- In the new window, go to the "Compatibility" tab and select the checkbox under "Compatibility mode" and "Windows XP" in the menu below. Confirm with OK and start Word 2003 as usual with a double click.
