Laptop fan runs constantly - you can do that
A fan should prevent the laptop from running too hot. However, if the fan is constantly on, this can quickly become annoying. In this practical tip, we will show you what you can do about it.
Laptop fan runs constantly - what to do?
- First start the laptop and click on "Restart" in the start menu while holding down the [Shift] key.
- You now have the option of setting the advanced start options in the menu. Choose Troubleshoot> Advanced Options> UEFI Firmware Settings> Restart.
- In the next step, select "Bios Setup". With some notebooks, you also have to press a certain F key during the startup process to open the BIOS. This is indicated by "Press F10 to enter Setup".
- Once you have reached the BIOS, switch to "System Configuration" and navigate to the entry "Fan always on". Press [Enter] and select "disabled".
