Connect laptop and TV wirelessly via WHDI
If you don't want to use an HDMI cable, you also have the option of using these wireless alternatives:
- The content of notebooks can be transferred wirelessly to the television using WHDI.
- To do this, you must connect the transmitter to the notebook. The receiver is connected to the HDMI input of the TV.
- This gives you the option of wirelessly transferring films, pictures and more to your television.
- Since this technology is not yet very mature, these adapters are currently still very expensive.
- You can get cheap wireless HDMI adapters for around 45 euros on Amazon. If you want to transfer data over longer distances in Full HD, you have to dig deeper into your pocket with around 200 euros.
Chromecast: connect laptop and TV at low cost
Chromecast works over WiFi and offers an affordable alternative.
- Simply connect the stick to the HDMI port on your TV and then connect it to your WiFi network.
- The stick is then ready for use. To be able to play content from the laptop, you need the Chome app Google Cast.
- Connect your notebook to the same network as your Chromecast and click the "Cast" icon in the top right to transfer content.
- You can get Chromecast for currently 35 euros on Amazon.
