If you are looking for a free laptop, you should browse the right websites. You will hardly get the latest models for free - but it should work. Or you are looking for defective devices that you can repair yourself.
- eBay classifieds: If you enter "laptop" in the search field, a lot of results will be displayed. To get to the free laptops, select the "For free" section.
- Focus classified ads: With the online magazine Focus, readers can also browse classified ads. You can get the results you want by entering "Give away a laptop" in the search field. Vary the search term, for example with "Notebook", increase your chances. You don't actually have to filter by state - laptops are easy to send.
- Quoka: You can also find a wide range of laptops on Quoka. Here, too, first enter the search term "laptop". Then select the appropriate heading in the left column. Free devices can be found under "Everything possible -> Offer free of charge".
- Kalaydo.de: You will get fewer hits on the smaller platform Kalaydo.de. Since the site is not as busy as the ones mentioned so far, you can be lucky and pick up gifts. Start here also with the search entry "laptop". Then filter under the heading "price" for "to give away".

Ask friends if someone discards a laptop.
- Laptops have a fairly short half-life. If a friend of yours has just bought a new notebook, he may be giving away his old one. Asking questions doesn't cost anything.
- You can reach a large circle of friends via Facebook. Write to your friends about your request. Maybe someone knows someone who gives their laptop free of charge.
