Clean laser printer - that's how it works
If you find unsightly spots or streaks on your printed documents, it is time to clean your laser printer. You should be careful - you can find out how to clean your printer without damaging it in this practical tip.
Proper cleaning of the laser printer
While your laser printer faithfully performs its printing services in the office, toner and paper components as well as dust accumulate inside. Therefore, careful cleaning of the inside of the printer cannot harm.
- Important: Before cleaning, you should definitely switch off the laser printer and pull out the mains plug. If the printer was previously in large-scale use, wait until it has cooled down.
- Then remove the print cartridge and remove the paper trays.
- Lint-free cloths such as microfiber cloths or leather cloths are suitable for cleaning. The best way to get into the corners or somewhat angled places is with cotton swabs.
- Of course there are also special cleaning sets for laser printers, which usually contain cleaning sheets in addition to cleaning wipes.
- You can lightly dampen the cloth with water or cleaning alcohol - but please use liquid very, very sparingly - and then carefully wipe the interior of the laser printer.
- Unlock the pickup roller and take it out of the printer. First wipe the pickup roller with a damp cloth and then rub it dry. Now you can put the pick-up roll back into the laser printer. Make sure that it clicks into place.
- Only when the laser printer is completely dry, do you put the print cartridge and paper tray back in again.
