LaTeX: arrange pictures side by side - how it works
In LaTeX you can arrange two pictures side by side using one minipage each. So the captions of both pictures are at the same height. We'll show you how it's done.
LaTeX: Images side by side with minipage
You can easily place images side by side in LaTeX with minipages. You do not need an extra package for this.
- In your LaTeX document, start with \ begin {figure} to create a figure that contains the two images. And add \ centering to center the content.
- Then split the figure by creating a new minipage with \ begin {minipage} [t] {0.45 \ linewidth} and \ end {minipage}.
- Add a \ hfill and another minipage (just like above) behind the minipage.
- In each of the two minipages, use \ centering again and integrate the graphic as usual with "\ includegraphics [width = .75 \ linewidth] {example-image-a}".
- If necessary, you can add a description for the images with \ caption {description}.
- To include images and use "caption", you have to add the packages with "\ usepackage {graphicx}" and "\ usepackage {caption}" via \ begin {document}.
