LaTeX: Write in bold - how it works
In LaTeX you can write in bold, for example to highlight text passages or to identify vectors and matrices. Similar to the "Bold" function in Word, you can also combine bold italics. We'll show you how.
Bold in LaTeX
The bold font in LaTeX functions somewhat differently in the body text and in the math environment. You can reproduce the PDF document shown here with the following code:
- "Write a word \ textbf {bold}. \\"
- "\ textbf {Bold text passages.} \\"
- "\ textit {\ textbf {Italic bold.}} \\"
- "In math mode: bold $ \ mathbf {V} $ \\"
- To write in bold and italics, first load the amsmath package that activates the "\ boldsymbol" command via "\ usepackage {amsmath}" ...
- or in bold italics "$ \ boldsymbol {V} $"
