This practical tip shows you how to force a space with LaTex.
How to force a space in LaTex
You can force a space in LaTex in just a few steps. We show you different possibilities and variations.
- Write a backslash directly after the desired number and then press the spacebar. The space was inserted in the overview.
- If you want a short space, write a semicolon, a comma or a colon directly after the backslash.
- For four spaces, write "quad" directly after the backslash and for eight spaces "qquad". Be sure to leave out the quotes.
- If you want to define the spaces yourself, write "hspace * {}" without quotation marks and insert the desired spacing between the curly brackets, for example: 0.3cm.
