LaTeX: left-justified and right-justified
Only a few commands are required to write left-justified and right-justified in the LaTeX office software. In our practical tip you will learn how the text alignment works:
How to write left-justified and right-justified under LaTeX
If you want to left-justify or right-justify your text in LaTeX, you only need to know two simple commands. By default, the text is formatted as justified - but this is easy to avoid. We show you what the commands for right and left-justified writing are in a different environment under the LaTeX editor Texmaker.
- Note: The \ raggedright switch aligns the font left-justified, \ raggedleft right-justified. Left stands for right-justified formatting, Right for left-justified formatting. The names are therefore exactly the opposite.
Write right justified under LaTeX
- Put the command "\ raggedleft" in front of your text - you can create a backslash simply by pressing [Alt Gr] and the question mark key
- Now write as usual. Your text will be right justified.
Write left justified under LaTeX
- Put the command "\ raggedright" in front of your text - you can create a backslash simply by pressing [Alt Gr] and the question mark key
- Now write as usual. Your text will be left justified.
In another practical tip, we will show you how to install LaTeX on Windows.
