LaTeX: insert page break - how it works
If you want to insert a page break in LaTeX, that's no problem. In our practical tip, we will show you how this can be done easily.
This is how you can insert a page break in LaTeX
Do you have to insert a page break in the LaTeX text editor? No problem: With the LaTeX editor Texmaker, only a few commands are required to force a break:
- You can write your text before the page break as usual.
- You now have two options: Either you use the command \ pagebreak or the command \ newpage - you get a backslash by pressing the [Alt] and [Question Mark] keys.
- Use the \ pagebreak command if the text should be flush with the other pages before the page break. The text is distributed so that there is no gap below.
- The command \ newpage also forces a page break, but without redistributing the text. There may be a larger white space at the bottom of the page. This command is common when writing books.
- You can continue with your text as usual. A page break has been added.
