Asphalt can be a great running surface with the right running shoes. In this article we have summarized what you need to consider.
These running shoes are suitable for asphalt
Every surface offers your feet a different feeling. Therefore, a different shoe should be used for the different floors. Here we dedicate ourselves to the shoe for the asphalt.
- If you train often on public roads on hard asphalt, you will not always be applauded from the sports scene. Asphalt is frowned upon as an underground. Unfortunately, it is forgotten that it can be a very comfortable and uncomplicated surface.
- Rigidity and hardness reduce the risk of injury, which can be caused by unstable shoe soles. In addition, your feet and your body do not have to constantly balance unevenness.
- Another advantage is that asphalt does not give way. It does not spring and so does not force it into the ground unnecessarily, as is the case with soft forest floors.
- The disadvantage of this, however, is that your joints are hardly protected. Each time the foot appears, the ankles absorb it directly. Shoes with very high damping are mandatory. It is important to pay attention to a harder sole.
- In addition, your running shoe must have strong hold in the ankle area. This reduces the risk of twisting. If the sole is too soft, this risk also increases.
- The lacing should be tight. Shoes with a larger gel sole should be preferred. A wider sole gives your foot more support on the asphalt. Under no circumstances should rubber that is too soft be processed in the sole. In addition, the sole must not be too high.
