Hide drives under Windows - how it works
On Windows it is quickly possible that you can hide an entire drive and the data stored on it. All you have to do is remove one letter.
How to make drives and data invisible
- Click "Start" and select "Control Panel". Then select "System and Security".
- Click the "Administration" option. There you will find the entry "Computer Management".
- On the left side you will find the item "Data storage". If you expand this point, the sub-item "Disk management" appears.
- Now all drives are listed. Right click on the drive you want to hide. In the context menu, select "Change drive letter - and paths ...".
- Click the "Remove" button. The drive letter now disappears and with it the drive.
- To make the drive visible again, simply select it again with a right click and give it a drive letter by "Add".
Testing was carried out under Windows 7. Never delete the letter of the drive on which your system is located, otherwise Windows can no longer be started. It is best to create a new partition for hidden drives.
